Cold Sores That Annoying Virus
We have a score to settle with the so-called cold sores. A very common and annoying problem that we can make life miserable because it is often an annoying fellow sufferer, since this infection sores may appear again and again.
Cold sores usually go out very often because in fact the virus stays with us, remains in a latent form in the body and is reactive with recurrent small blisters popularly known as fever.
The so-called cold sore is one of the causes which reactivated, but not the only one. Solar radiation, extreme changes in temperature or small lesions in the mouth are other factors involved, so careful with all these causes that cause it.
The hormonal changes also play an important role at times. Another important cause reactivation of cold sores can be emotional stress. And is that the herpes virus is not latent in the area where the infection develops. Once you have registered the first episode, often in childhood, the virus migrates through sensory nerve endings of the skin or mucosa to the node.
There it lies dormant. It hides in the trigeminal ganglion and can reactivate at any time during the life of the host and possibly when we least expect it. They are different stimuli that reactivate the virus, and transport of new sensory axons. When it reaches the target area, infects epithelial cells, causing a new infection.
In recent years, it was found that episodes of recurrent herpes labialis may be less innocent than assumed and even posed a hypothetical relation to Alzheimer’s.
In a study by researchers at the University of Manchester, analyzed the amyloid plaques of Alzheimer’s and many patients found that 90% of these HSV1 virus DNA were responsible for the herpes.
The hypothesis is that the organism enters the brain of the elderly when the immune system is weakened, but at the moment is a theory.
