What you need to do to Help Babies Learn the bedtime for babies

The parent has a role to play to help babies learn the bedtime. Creating the right conditions for night and day sleep can help the baby distinguish and know the bedtime for babies. When the baby falls asleep during the day, the lights should be left on and the noise level should be maintained at normal level. During the day, the parent should be more engaging with the baby such as helping in playing with use of toys and talking to the baby.

However, such engagement should be averted during the night. For example, during the night sleep, the lights should be switched off and not even the TV light should be seen. The environment should be maintained quiet. Even after the baby wakes up at night, the parent should maintain a low engagement such as holding the baby and soothing him. This helps to distinguish between the night and day and also learn the bedtime for babies.

Before the baby goes for sleep, a number of aspects can help the baby learn that it is bedtime for babies. A warm bath will help relax the baby’s mind, body and soul and therefore, he will be able to go for bed quickly and heavily. A massage will also help the baby feel relaxed and comfortable after a playful day. Similarly, a story telling can be used to prepare the baby to sleep.
